KMCLU Faculty of Legal Studies Organizes Orientation Programme for Newly Admitted Law Students

Lucknow, August 2: The Faculty of Legal Studies at Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University (KMCLU), Lucknow, successfully organized an Orientation Programme on August 1, 2026, to welcome the newly admitted students of B.A. LL.B., LL.B., and LL.M. programmes for the Academic Session 2026–27.

The programme was held under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Taneja, who served as the Chief Patron. The event was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Masood Alam, Dean, Faculty of Legal Studies, and Dr. Piyush Kumar Trivedi, Head of the Department, Faculty of Legal Studies.

A key highlight of the event was an interactive session by Adv. Purnendu Chatterjee, a senior criminal advocate at the Lucknow High Court. Addressing the students, he shared valuable insights from his professional journey and encouraged them to strengthen their legal knowledge, uphold ethical values, develop advocacy skills, and remain committed to justice and social responsibility.

The programme also featured an inspiring address by Dr. Mansi Sharma, Professor at IGNOU, who guided students on the importance of legal education and shared practical perspectives on building a successful career in the legal profession.

The Orientation Programme was convened by Dr. Zainab Iftikhar Khan, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Legal Studies, who coordinated the event and ensured its smooth execution. In her welcome address, she greeted the dignitaries, faculty members, guests, parents, and newly admitted students. She emphasized the significance of discipline, professionalism, academic excellence, and active participation in both curricular and co-curricular activities as essential elements of legal education.

The programme concluded on a positive note, motivating students to embark on their legal education with confidence, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility toward society.
